Andover Public Library is presenting a free workshop April 6 and 10th.: Writing Life Stories. If your children or grandchildren are after you to capture on paper family stories they've heard so often, or if you've experienced an unforgettable period in your life to write down, this is a workshop you will love.

Suzanne Byerley, former director of the Mendocino Coast Writer's Conference, is a teacher and free lance editor. Her short stories have appeared in numerous magazines and literaries, and she's a Hopwood Award winner for fiction as well as a Fulbright Scholar in Journalism. Since moving to Pierpont from California, where she taught writing and journalism at College of the Redwoods, she has conducted a weekly creative writing class at the Conneaut Community Center for the Arts. She writes poetry and columns on life, loves words and teaching and a good joke. Suzanne has agreed to present this special new kind of class especially for Andover Public Library's community. The class is free to all, ages 16 and up, donations will be accepted.

If you're not quite sure where to begin, or have started but need some encouragement to get the job done, come join us. We'll find out just what a memoir is and how it relates to autobiography, essay, fiction and poetry. We'll work on writing techniques, draw from current examples, and send you home inspired!!

The class will be Tuesday April 6 from 4-7 pm, and again Saturday April 10 from 10 am-1 pm. To register please call Andover Public Library: 440-293-6792.
